- Intro: A longing, a hatred, a dream and a forbidden affair Part 1 of 2
Everyday he walks to school and sees her. When she sees him she sneers, whenever he passes she spits at him. Ever since they were four. Now they were seventeen. Thirteen long years of her disdain. Despite this, Tuhin still hoped for her attention. Her affections.
Rekha’s silky raven hair shimmered with nearly blue highlights- captivating his eyes. Again he followed her to school, a few paces behind, watching her hair sway as she walked. Dreaming about kissing her. Today her friend Kajori didn’t join her, she stayed home due to an illness.
Before they arrived at school, Rekha glanced at him over her shoulder. It wasn’t a glare but it wasn’t a pleasant expression either. Tahin smiled to himself, it was the kindest look he had ever received from her.
He sat in the far corner of the class, Rekha sat two rows over and three rows in front of him. Several times she looked over her shoulder at him. Each time she seemed more and more bewildered. He felt as puzzled as she looked.
During lunch she sat at her usual table but faced him as he sat at the table across the way. Each of them would forget to eat, staring at one another. Only remembering to take a bite when someone poked at them, or jarred them from their trance. Tahin was enthralled as he watched her watch him. He was awed with how soft her eyes were toward him. She looked like a frightened but curious deer.
When they returned to class Tahin could not pay attention to his studies, he could only smile every time he saw her head turn in his direction. One time he dared to wink, she quickly turned away her face instantly burned red. Tahin laughed into his hand.
School ended and Rekha lingered at her desk, Tahin followed her example- waiting for everyone to clear out. After saying goodbye to her teacher she started the walk home. Tahin followed his usual fifteen paces behind her, half the time her head turned to catch him in her peripherals . So absorbed with one another they didn’t notice the weather change. What started as a light rain quickly became a downpour. Without thinking, Tahin ran to her side, grabbed her waist and guided her to a cluster of trees, keeping off most of the rain. Rekha was nestled under Tahin’s arm, her hands curled against his side.
The rain was warm but unrelenting, Tahin looked down at the girl under his arm. She looked up at him and shivered with cold. She was beautiful even when she was glaring at him or spitting at him but seeing this genteel expression aimed in his direction he thought she was the most exquisite creature he had ever seen. Another wave of trembled coursed through her and she snuggled into his side. For a moment he worried his heart would burst, his blood rushing so fast through his body it seemed hot.
He knew where to go- somewhere he played since he was little. It was near and hidden. Without saying a word, he escorted her through the trees, down a short trail to a cluster of rocks that formed a small cave.
It was dry and secluded. The rain acted as a curtain, blurring their silhouettes.
“Tahin?” She said timidly, her head bowed, his arm still firmly around her.
“Yes Rekha?”
“I dreamt of you last night,” she said softly. “I dreamt that you and I…” Tahin wanted to hear her so he stayed silent. Instead of speaking she wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her face into his ribs. “Married.” This was a shock to Tahin. “I was angry at first. Outraged that my parents would choose you for me but..” Her pale brown eyes looked up into his nearly black ones, “In the dream I realized, after time I..I noticed that you are a good man Tahin. I woke and realized you are a good man.” Her eyebrows rose high on her forehead, “I have been cruel to you for years and you..I thought of you as a fool.” She blushed with shame of her confession. “That you were stupid but you are not Tahin, you are gentle and kind. I see that now. I know now that I was stupid. That I was the fool.”
“Rekha, why do you think of yourself as a fool?”
“Because I have missed out on you for years. Being your friend.”
Tahin grinned down at her and before he knew it, Rekha grabbed his face and kissed him loudly on the mouth. He sputtered and nearly fell backward, overwhelmed with astonishment he sat down hard.
“Tahin!” She hovered over him, her hands on his shoulders. “Speak! Are you all right Tahin?”
Feeling his heart pound on the inside of his ribs he watched in astonishment as she bent closer to kiss him.
The animal in each of them stirred- no longer was Rekha hissing, chasing him away. All day they circled and sniffed the air- the scent was a prelude to something primal. Now there was something else. Something very instinctive. A pairing.
Tahin hugged her, pulling her to the ground beside him. Their mouths fused together their arms trying to fuse their bodies together. Drunk and dizzy, Tahin pulled away to breathe- to make certain this heaven was real. Her large eyes stared at him, beckoning him for more. He had wanted this beauty for so long- since they were children and here she finally was. She wanted him.
His head dipped down and kissed her again, gently this time. She sighed, happy and relieved. Within minutes Tahin had laid her back and rolled on top of her with no objections. Welcoming him to her by slowly spreading her legs. A moment later he pressed the swell of his hard cock against her soft mound. A need ached in him- he groaned as he softly rubbed himself between her legs. This caused a need in Rekah. Lifting her hips she allowed him more room.
He wondered if he dared pluck this flower. If he should resist the temptation to take something so precious from someone he so long admired. Tahin gazed at her, her eyes sparking and yet calm. Instead of undressing her and seeing her warm colored skin free of her bindings he kissed her on the chin. This confused her. He stood and noticed the rain had stopped. He knew her mother would be looking for her.
He extended a hand and she took it with both of hers. As he was about to brace and lift her to her feet she yanked and Tahin fell on top of her. Like a panther she rolled him quickly and worked his garments to expose his cock which had slightly softened. Her slender fingers clenched the end of it, her eyes mesmerized. Ashamed, Tahin reached to cover himself but she blocked his hands. This sprung her into action, her fingertips slid down the shaft. Tahin moaned and again tried to cover himself.
“No. Please Tahin.” Her plea stopped his hands but he sat up. “No. Please. Please friend. Let me..”
“Rekha. We must not-“
“Please,” she said, her eyes filling with tears. In all the years he had known her he had never seen Rekha cry. He would have done anything to see it stop. Raising his hands, he lifted his palms to the sky, signifying he was hers to do with as she pleased. The smile pushed the suspended tears, they spilled down her cheeks and again he was awed with her beauty. “Kiss me again Tahin.”
Leaning toward her he lightly pressed his mouth against hers. She tasted better than any honey that had ever touched his tongue. Wanting to sample more of her, he tried to be discrete and slid the tip of his tongue out to touch her lips as they kissed. At the same time Rekha’s tongue touched his and instead of pulling away with repulsion she moaned softly and pushed her tongue over top of his. Tahin was thrilled with her gesture. The two soft, moist pieces of flesh danced amongst one another. He wished to kiss her like this forever but Rekha was not satisfied with just a kiss. Her hand found his rigid cock and began to stroke him much to his delight.
Tahin was panting within seconds- desperate for more air he had to remove his mouth from hers. He contemplated suffocating, thinking it would be an excellent death. But once she began caressing his manhood he realized he was only sitting on the edge of heaven. He was no longer willing to die- there was much more to be sampled.
She suddenly stopped and rapidly began to undress him. She felt his chest, her fingers resting on his dark nipples. Tahin closed his eyes and relished her touches. Her palm pressed against his chest.
“Your heart beats fast.” He opened his eyes just in time to see her kiss the cage holding his heart. “Feel mine.” She took his hand and set it on her chest. “Can you feel it?”
“A little.”
She let go of him and undressed, her sari floating to the ground. To Tahin her large breasts were the most exquisite thing he had ever beheld. She pressed his hand against her heart and held it there.
“All day it has been loud,” she said. He felt her pulse. A strong and steady drumming. After a moment she moved his hand to hold her breast. It was the only encouragement he needed. Automatically his other hand cupped the other. He watched as the dark velvet nipples hardened, protruding further from the rest of the soft flesh. She kissed his nipples and they reacted like hers. When her tongue flicked the bumpy flesh Tahin squeezed her breasts- they both groaned.
Tahin bent and took a nipple into his mouth. Rekah instantly curled her arms around his head and quietly cooed into his black hair. Her back bent backward, trying to press more into him. Wanting that glorious sensation to cover her entire body.
Eventually Tahin pulled away to see her face- it was aflame with want for him. He needed no more prodding. The two bare bodies pressed against one another, Tahin kissed her throat as she whispered, “My stoic Tahin. My mighty and kind Tahin.”
She suddenly slipped from his arms and kneeled before him. Looking up she appeared to be submitting to him. His cock took her attention. Before Tahin could object Rekah’s tongue ran up the front of it causing his knees to buckle. Mirroring her stance Tahin was too breathless to speak. His cock was filled with magnificent silent screams ready to burst. She moved back and bent, her silky hair slipping off of her shoulders and hiding her face from him as her warm mouth took him in.
“Rekah.” He gasped toward the rock ceiling which didn’t answer. “Now I want to live forever. I no longer need a heaven.”
Rekha’s hands anchored themselves onto his buttocks and he groaned again. Her hair swayed as her head rode up and down his cock. Never having orgasmed before Tahin was stunned when his body lurched and he felt himself explode with a rush of unknown pleasure. Rekah was equally surprised as the first warm threads hit the roof of her mouth. Tahin felt helpless as she pulled her face away but kept her hold on him. His pelvis flicked forward involuntarily as five more abbreviated streams landed on random parts of her. As his breathing steadied, he stared at her- mortified to see the milky glaze slide down her chin, cheek, breasts and throat. She was staring blankly at the thick flesh she still gripped in her hand. His eyes widened in awe when he saw her swallow and rolling her tongue around her mouth, registering the flavor.
Lost in a daze, she didn’t seem to notice him slowly lifting her hand from his body. He didn’t know how to feel. Guilty, worried, euphoric. A war raged in him as he tried to decide what to do next. The battle was so distracting he could do nothing but stand still and gaze at her. Gradually her head bent to look down at what he had done. Tahin stopped breathing. His heart fluttered with anxiety. She ran a finger through the sticky white on her breast and then looked at it. Her eyes widened and she slapped her hands over her face.
Sick he had upset her, he embraced her, praying he could keep her from feeling anything but beautiful. When he felt her shoulders shaking he relinquished her, moved back and blurted, “I am sorry Rekha. I am-“
She snorted and he froze. The large eyes peeked from behind her hands and she began to giggle. So thankful she wasn’t crying, his body slumped as the tension fled. But it was soon replaced with shame. Tahin quickly gathered his clothes and covered himself. As he stood she grabbed his hand and looked up at him. Even though she was laughing hard, she admired his nude profile with fabric wadded up in his fist to hide his manhood.
Feeling the burn of humiliation Tahin tried to break her grasp but her other hand joined in, holding him hostage. “Sorry!” She choked trying to calm herself. “I am sorry Tahin. I am not laughing at you.” A small amount of anxiety left his body. “I am laughing at me. I must be a mess. I must look-“
“Perfect.” The humor fled her face, replaced with affection. “Even when you are covered in my mess. Especially because you are covered in my mess.”
She looked down at herself again, “I did not know it would be..so messy.” She covered her grinning face and laughed loud. It was music to him, soaring through him, making him feel weightless. Moving back to his knees he hugged her and lightly kissed her mouth. Smiling at her, holding her, feeling her against him- Tahin felt ethereal.
Wanting to protect her, he said, “We need to clean and go home-“
Her face saddened, “Before my mother comes looking.”
She stood and offered him her hand, he kissed it and stood. They stepped into the warm rain, he watched her smile and lift her face to the sky. He touched her cheek assisting the rain in washing her. Standing still for him, she shivered from his light touches as he cleaned her. Soon his hands wandered other parts- her stomach, her hips where they paused with uncertainty. Taking his wrists she guided them between her legs.
Tahin knew a little about female anatomy having come across a taboo book once in a store. The clinical drawings and text was seared into his mind. To finally use that smidgen of knowledge, he sought that sometimes elusive spot. Finding the small nub, he gently rubbed it and new he had found his mark when she gasped and grabbed his arm to hold it in place. She leaned against him and he cradled her waist with his free arm. Eyes closed, mouth open, her head fell back. It took his breath. His head dipped and he kissed her as she began to pant, his fingers working faster.
Skin so slick with water, he felt her ribs rising and falling against his chest. Unable to handle any more of her beauty, he closed his eyes and focused on the spot that had her in a trance. He lightly pinched it and her back arched hard as a cry broke from her mouth. It was the most glorious thing he had ever heard. Or so he thought until he repeated the touch and she said his name as her body quaked with an orgasm. He didn’t stop until she gently pressed his hand flat against her as she breathed hard. She let go of his hand and turned herself to him, pressing their bodies together in a comforting embrace.
“I feel like gold,” she said into the skin of his throat. “Like molten gold.” She lifted her head to look at him. “Did I make you feel-“
He smiled, reassuring her when he said, “Immortal.” She beamed and nestled her face into the crook of his neck. Time was nearing a dangerous point. Leading her into the cave, they dressed, smiling at one another. Sometimes silently laughing with disbelief, other times contemplating the seriousness of what had taken place. Dressed, they stood at the mouth of the cave and looked ahead. The world looked different. Brighter. Clearer.
A tug on his hand, he turned to see her smiling up at him. Another tug and she pulled him to kiss his cheek. “I hope I dream of you tonight,” she said.
Smiling back he answered, “I do not think I will be able to sleep.” He kissed her hand, let go and gestured to her to start walking ahead of him. She didn’t move. “We do not want to look-“
“I want to walk beside you.”
Going against his better judgment, he nodded and she nearly skipped the first step out. Tahin couldn’t help but chuckle at her exuberance. They walked in silence, the rain slowing but by the time they neared her home they were soaked. She stood beside him, not wanting to go inside.
“Go Rekha.” She petulantly shook her head and it made him grin. “Go.”
“No.”
“There is the Rekha I know. Defiant.” She nodded happily. “But you need to go before-“ he looked up and saw her mother scornfully glaring at him. He felt ill. As if the acts they committed were obvious. Rekha took advantage of his hesitation. Grabbing him in a hug she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him quickly on his mouth. His stomach was in knots as he watched her mother march toward them.
“REKAH!” She screeched.
Rekah became stiff against him, eyes large with fright. She flashed a sad smile to Tahin and bolted toward her mother who was steps away. Tahin was ambivalent- wanting to leave so Rekah would not feel embarrassed being berated in front of him and wanting to steal her away from her mother’s claw like grip on her arm and protect her. Instead, he stood still, unable to move.
Before she was dragged through the door, Rekah tried to smile at him and he felt his heart crack. Her mother’s voice was incoherent through the rain and the loud pulse in his ears. He stood there, waiting. Waiting for what he did not know. Finally, it came. Her mother opened the door, stormed toward him and hissed, “You are never to speak about this to anyone. You are never to even speak her name. Leave.”
He looked at the door and caught a glimpse of Rekha. It was full of love and was embossed into his mind. She darted away and Tahin began walking home, his mind lost in a fog of emotions.
It was a sleepless night for him. Several times he stood, ready to run to her house and make certain she was all right. The reasoning side of him always persuaded him back to bed, reminding him he would see her in the morning. Before the sun even peered over their slice of the globe, Tahin was dressed and across the road from her house. Hidden in a jumble of vines of a tree he waited. And waited. Classmates began to pass by. It seemed like an eternity before he saw Kajori walk up to the door and knock. Rekah’s mother answered, speaking in clipped sentences and then shutting the door.
Kajori looked confused as she walked away in the direction of school. He debated on what to do next. Ask Kajori what she told her or wait in case Rekah came out. Instinct told him Rekah would not be going to school today, so he dashed to Kajori’s side. She had never been cruel to him but she had ignore him over the years. Today she looked at him and said flatly, “Rekah moved to live with her aunt.” She shook her head, unable to believe it. Tahin stopped walking, a black knot in his stomach yanked at her heart. Kajori added, “She moved last night. I did not get to say goodbye.”
Tahin was heartbroken and began to run. Not knowing what direction he was heading, he ran until he believed his lungs would burst. He was far from school, far from his road. No thoughts in his head, he walked back and found himself standing at the mouth of the cave. It was unfathomable that hours ago they had touched each other so intimately. That he had kissed her. Held her.
Curling up in the corner, in the dark, he wept. He woke when it was dark and trudged home slowly. His mother hugged him and clucked like a mother hen but he was deaf. He went straight to bed and fitfully slept. His father woke him in the night.
“Tahin. Tahin.” The grogginess faded and he sought his father’s face. “Why are you crying in your sleep?” Tahin didn’t respond. Not wanting to shame Rekah or her mother. His father was wise and smiled sadly. “Love?”
Tahin nodded repeatedly.
“Does this have anything to do with Rekah moving?” Tahin went to speak, but nothing came out. “You were saying her name in your sleep.” Ducking his head with embarrassment he was surprised when his father patted his back. “Love is a strange thing Tahin. Wonderful and difficult. Painful.” Tahin nodded again. “Did she break your-“
Shaking his head, he answered, “No. She did not. She confessed she..” he swallowed, “she dreamt of me. That we were married.” He told him about how she had been angry, but woke and realized he was good, kind and that she called herself a fool for not being his friend all these years. Their actions he kept quiet, not spilling a single hint. His father listened, observing the rare openness of his son.
Patting his back he said, “I can tell that there is more to this-“ Tahin looked away. “But it is private. I will not inquire. But you love her?”
“Yes.”
“And now she is hours away.”
“Yes.”
“And you have been forbidden by her-“ Tahin looked at his father, aghast he had guessed. “Gossip spreads fast.”
“But what do I do?”
“Go on. Live. Finish school. Work in your mother’s shop. Go to university. Study and work hard.” It wasn’t what he wanted to hear. “It is the only thing I can say. There is nothing easy about it.” He kissed his son’s crown. “I am so sorry Tahin.” He patted his back and left the room.
