On The Beach

I love the sea, waves crashing

The vastness, the power.

The tide rushing in

Making people scream

As they gather their belongings

Trying to avoid a soaking.

Families, sharing time together

Making memories.

Playing games together

Football and cricket.

Frisbee and volleyball.

Or just throw & catch.

Happy children, excited

Feeling the sand between their toes.

Some people soaking up the sun

Others sitting in the shade

Some watching the world go by

Some having a nap.

A melting pot of people

Coming together to enjoy.

Rock pools to be explored

Buckets to fill with treasures

Sandcastles to build, with care

The tide wiping them away later.

Donkey rides, bouncy castles

Ice creams & picnics.

People swimming, paddling

Belly boards and dinghies

Airbeds and surfers

Enjoying the waves.

Beach holidays with family

Memories you never forget.
