My Baby

I waited nine months

The longest of times.

Feeling your every movement

Kicks, punches, even hiccups.

I grew to love you

To know you.

Before we’d even met

My baby, within me.

Even more special

After the ones I lost.

So precious

Not really believing,

That I would hold you in my arms

That you would really be mine.

So long awaited

At last you were born.

My heart burst with joy

My waiting was over.

So perfect, just beautiful

A miracle of nature.

The baby I had waited for

My dreams come true.

My baby.... my world.
