The Meandering Poet

Winter sets down to a seasonal job,

killing a million lonely little souls,

looking out at infinite lonely little stars.

Light years away lies a little alien,

happy in the ways of the universe,

he relaxes by a still lake of tranquillity

and gazes at the sky

at a million lonely little souls.

A million lonely little souls,

looking at infinitely lonely stars,

light years away, lies a happy little alien

and he stares back.
