A slight plaigirism here, thought I'd written a really beautiful piece when I was reminded by a friend it sounded very reminiscent of Jethro Tull's 'Elegy'.Ah well, it was never meant...I guess some things just stick in the mind...
She, was a girl that I once knew
Though that wasn't long enough
Couldn't understand her views
Couldn't see behind her
Soft and gentle eyes that sparkled
taking shape beneath her
Hair that curled upon her shoulders
And I loved her
She, had a hang up about life
Couldn't comprehend her thoughts
Took it all too seriously
Though that no-one cared to
Speak to her and reason out
Some kind of magic potion
That would help her see it through
And I loved her
Now the flames run in the hearth
And the moon is on the sill
Light the lamp and go to bed
Still she haunts me in my
Dreams that take their shape upon the
Starlit sky against the mountains
Now it seems a century has passed
And I love her still
