Chapter 2: Kristen & Charlotte
I pulled into the driveway of my house and spotted two cars. One being my moms and the other being her boyfriends. I despised her boyfriend with every bone in my body. He was almost half the age of my mom and he could be my older brother, which was completely gross. When he got the chance, he would flirt with me behind my mom's back. I have told her this plenty of times, but her reply is that he is just being friendly.
I will not lie about his good looks because he could have any girl to be putty in his hands by one simple look. He tried it on me once and I nearly fell for it.
I stepped out of my car and had a one-track mind, which was to go straight to my room and sleep. Since I was crying my eyes out after I told myself not to, I was completely exhausted. I was hoping to come home and talk to my mom about it, but she is more than likely busy.
Sadly instead of me being able to head straight to my room my mom called to me from the living room.
"Yes mom."
"Come and sit with," she began to say, but cut herself off when she saw that I had bags under my eyes and I just looked a mess.
"Sweetheart what's wrong? What happened?" she questioned rushing to my side holding my face in her hands sounding like a true concerned mother.
"Nothing I'm just tired is all. I'll head up to my room now." I answered gently removing her hands from my face.
"Aw sweetie I really wanted you to spend some time with me and Connor, but you need your rest."
"Like I really want to be around Connor more than I needed to," I muttered not wanting her to hear me.
Once in my room, I didn't even go to sleep. I stayed up all night rethinking my image. I promised myself that I would change who I am. I don't want to be the same pathetic and oblivious girl that I am. I deserve better in my life, but I don't know where to start.
As I was thinking, my phone began to ring. I was not in the mood to talk to anyone, but I answered anyway.
"Hello."
"Hey little sis!"
"Oh my gosh! Kirsten I haven't heard from you in forever!"
Kirsten is my father's daughter from his previous marriage. When he married my mom Kirsten and me couldn't stand each other, but over a two year time span we got to know each other and now we're inseparable when we are together. She's a model and is always on the move.
"I know and I'm so sorry. I've been extremely busy, but I wanted to call and check up on you. How are things?"
"Not good. I wish you were here, so we could have one of our girl nights and I can vent to you while you feed me endless tubs of ice cream and comfort me."
"Well I have a surprise for you. I'll be coming tomorrow."
No words could describe how excited I was.
"Kyra? Kyra are you there?"
"Uh yeah I'm here. I'm speechless."
"I could tell. I have to go. The plane is boarding now. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye. Love you!"
"Love you too."
This is so exciting! I'm practically jumping up and down right now. I completely forgot about the issue at hand. I looked at my clock and was baffled by the time. It was already 11. I decided to go ahead and sleep. I took a quick shower and once my head hit the pillow I was fast asleep.

This morning someone poking me in the face rapidly woke me up. I swatted the hand away, but it came back again. I opted with turning my body and covering my head with the covers.
"Girl if you don't get up you'll be late for school."
At the sound of the voice, I jumped up and pounced on Kirsten.
"I thought you would be getting here later not this morning!"
"Well I couldn't stay away any longer I had to see you." She said with a wide grin on her face.
I couldn't say anything. My eyes drifted toward my door and there stood a gorgeous woman who wore blood red lipstick on her full lips that fit her very well. She was leaning against my doorframe with a smile plastered on her face.
"Who's the chick?" I whispered in Kirsten's ear.
Kirsten jumped from the bed and dragged the girl over to me. A loving smile was on Kirsten's lips while her hands were intertwined with the girls.
"Kyra this is my girlfriend Charlotte. We work together." She stated warily.
I was shocked tremendously. I shook my head to clear my mind.
"Girlfriend? When did you start liking women?" I wasn't mad just shocked and a little hurt she hadn't told me she was into girls earlier and that I had to find out like this.
"When the last guy I dated, tried to rape me and then acted as if nothing happened the next day. Then he went and cheated on me. That little bastard has no respect for women what so ever. I wish I could get a hold of him now I would knee him where the sun doesn't shine. That bastard deserves everything that comes to him..."
"Babe you rambling." Her girlfriend Charlotte spoke up in an attempt to calm her.
"Sorry, but yeah after all that happened I met Charlotte, we started hanging out and one night she kissed me senseless and I fell for her right then."
This was a lot of information to take in this early in the morning. Instead of commenting on her current relationship and all the things, she told me I grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom to get ready for school.
I stepped out of the bathroom and luckily, neither of the girls was in my room. I'm happy she found someone who is making her happy, but she could have given me a heads up.
I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. The two of them were sitting at the bar having a deep conversation about what I don't know. As soon as they head me, they stopped talking.
"You're dressed. Awesome."
"Yeah I need to get going now."
"Let us take you." She said with a sweet smile plastered on her face.
"Okay." I made my way toward the door with the backpack and toward her car.
We pile into the car with Charlotte driving and head off to my school. An awkward silence filled the car to the point where it was almost suffocating.
"Kyra I don't want anything to be weird between us considering you know about my sexual orientation." Kirsten says turning around in her position in the passenger seat.
I stayed silent while she continued.
"I should have told you this a while back, but I was afraid that you wouldn't approve of me."
"You're older than me Kirsten. You don't need my approval for anything. I don't want anything to be weird between us either. When you told me all that information so early in the morning my brain went into overload. You did hurt me a little though. I wish you would have told me about everything when you first realized it."
"I know. I'm sorry and I promise to tell you things as soon as it happens and to not do it early in the morning." Her saying that latter part of her statement caused us all to laugh. She turned back around and continued giving directions to Charlotte.
We pulled up to my school right in the front. Everyone's head turned to gawk at the flashy car.
"We'll back to pick up okay?"
"Alright. Tootles!"
Cassie tackled me into a hug before asking who dropped me off. I told her who and she told me she was going to be going home with me today just to see my sister. She loved my sister just as much as I did if not more.
Today seems like it will be a great day.
