CHAPTER 3
Claudia Roman looked at Claudia from the window sill he was now resting on .It had been two days since he had changed Claudia but still she did not wake, she just laid there at a sack of potatoes. Slowly but surely he was beginning to lose his patiences ,what was happening ,did something actually go wrong in the transformation .It’s not possible he thought ,maybe he had miss calculated somehow. He rose from his seat and started pacing back and forth something he always did when he was actually thinking. Soon the where steps heard coming towards the room, the door was opened a moment later and Roman didn’t have to look up to know who it was.
“Master I tried to be as discreet as you asked trying to get the information out of the witches but the just looked at me funny .I hate those hot headed little things ,they think they know everything . Well I got news for them they DON’T.” Josh said with anger clearly marked on his face as he entered the room and banged the door shut. “So you got nothing I presume.” Roman asked very disappointed at the useless bit of information. So now he was forced to wait even more he thought as he walked around to his favorite chair and slumped down. “I have an idea master but you have to trust me on this okay.” Josh said looking at Roman with weary eyes. “I don’t have any more ideas so I guess yours even if it stupid might just work.” Roman told him without a care in the world. Josh had never done anything right in his whole life but he was loyal so Roman kept him for his amusement anyway.
Hearing this Claudia quickly rethought her plan of silence .She had thought by not waking Roman and his fool would have left her alone long enough to escape but they had stayed and watched her like a hawk ,she could feel their biddy eyes every minute of every hour watching her body’s every twitch. Now Josh had I plan to “wake” her .She waited patiently as she heard his footsteps draw near .Her whole body involuntary, tensed. It was going into panic mode and she didn’t like it. She felt him slowly grab a-hold of her collar .With him this close to her, she could smell his scent and it made her tummy turn upside down. Without warning she felt him jerk her as he shouted wake up, and with an impact so strong she felt a sharp sting across her cheek .The bastard had just slapped her she thought, no one but her parents had ever hit her and she was going to let him know. Her eyes quickly shot open to meet his blue ones, they were so close to each other’s faces their noses nearly touch .With speed Claudia never knew she possessed she raised her right arm and swung at josh, her fist with lighting speed making contact with his jaw .She watched as he was flung across the room and hit the red painted wall with such force it cracked and made an outline of his body. Her mouth immediately fell open with shock and she looked down at her small hands disbelieving they could do such a thing. A few days ago they couldn’t even open a jar of mayonnaise and now they were flinging man half her size into a wall she thought. She looked over at Josh as he slowly slide to the floor ,he looked so pathetic and her whole body began to vibrate as small giggles escaped her lips .She tried covering her mouth with her hands but she just couldn’t hold them in for too long as she burst out laughing and tears began to form in her eyes. She saw Josh slowly get up and look at her with fire burning in his eyes. His eyes quickly changed to blood red with deep-blue veins scaring the outline of his eyes, he pulled his lips back and two sharp fangs showed themselves followed by a harsh animalistic growl that vibrated throughout the room and hurt her ears.
“You little bitch; I’m going to make you pay for that.”Josh hissed at her with pure acid in his tone as he crept closer to her. “Bring it Joshy boy.” Claudia said with a smirk on her face. Mocking him she rose from her seating position to face him once again, but this time without fear. “Now, now my pets let’s not get hasty, we all love each other don’t we, like that saying goes love your neighbor something …something.” Roman said looking with amusement and holding in a laugh as he watch his two favorite play things go at it .He swore not even TV was as interesting as the two .The new-ling and the old-ling who would win, too bad he forgot the popcorn he thought.
“Josh I must say, you obviously have manly balls if you can hit a woman.” Claudia said as she looked at Josh with a teasing smile. “I guess that’s where you are mistaken I hit little girls not woman, which must say something about you.” he shot back coming even closer. “Are you two ever going to fight, you are beginning to bore me.” Roman cheeped in annoyance written all over his face .As if on cue Josh lunged at Claudia teeth barred aiming for her weakest point. Using her new found speed Claudia was quick to dodge him and run to the window, looking down though it she saw her chance to escape .Roman noticed it too and without hesitating she jumped out sending glass flying everywhere .Roman tried grabbing her leg but all he got was a piece of her jean .He watched as his beauty moved with lighting speed though the trees and vanish. He turned to look at Josh who watched him with wide eyes and disbelief.
“How is that possible, she is running in the day light without a charm necklace? What’s protecting her from the sun Master?” Josh asked still not believing what had just happened. “I don’t know, but one thing I do know is that she is not sired to me .I never felt the connection with her, she is going to be out there looking for him .Which means what Josh?” Roman replied simply. “We find her Master, before he does or you die a second time but this time without coming back. And one more thing she is a high breed right and as vampires we are not allowed to make such things either .How do you plan on hiding her?” Josh replied his gaze firmly glued on the shattered window. “When night falls find her for me, go to Luna she will be more than glad to help you. If Claudia resists you at anytime kill her, don’t worry Luna will know how.” Roman said as he turned and walked out the room leaving Josh to clean up the mess he had created. ****************************************************************************************
It felt like forever since she had been running and Claudia never felt tried once, COOL she thought everything looked like a blur as she passed what she thought where mountains, hills and trees .She jumped over river beds with ease, it was like walking though a passage .She didn’t know where she was headed only that something was pulling her towards it and she was blindly following. Then she stopped dead in her tracks, she could smell something, a sweet yummy thing .She looked around and notice she was in a old small western looking town .Wow and she thought this was the 21st century, boy was she wrong .She looked down and saw she was standing on the road, at least that was modern she thought .As she made her way down she could see to her left the were certain number of saloons with the swinging doors and a sheriff’s offices while to her right were stables ,a bank and a cute little post office all in the same line wow she thought. As she moved further she saw a railroad and past that were couple of brown plain wood houses, which is was where the nice smell must be coming form she reasoned. The must be nice food there as she looked up at the sky and notice the sun was coming down. Claudia tummy did a little flip she felt when she mentioned the food part. She walked on until she reached the first little house .She looked it over, it had no grass, it was small and dull, the windows where chipped and whatever color it was before now had fade away.
But her nose had led her here; she could still smell something mouth watering and it had gotten even stronger. She decided to investigate more and entered though the broken gate. She sensed something, a human presence and looked to the corner and saw two little eyes looking at her .She motioned for the figure to approach her with a wave of her hand .A cute little brown haired girl with big brown eyes wearing a blue-pink flowered sun dress shyly moved away from her hide out and walked slowly towards Claudia .She looked about eight or seven and her presence made Claudia’s senses sharpen, her teeth grew longer ,a hunger she never felt before over whelmed her and she felt her eyes darken .She looked at the little innocent eyes that now stood in front of her and bent down on one knee so that they where eye level .
“What do you have for me today little one?” The little girl simply held out her little hand to revel an apple and smiled showing no fear what so ever. Claudia took the apple from the little girl’s hand and took a big bite of it .It tasted just as good as it smelled ,she could not believe she walked all this way just for an apple she smiled inward . “Would you like to meet my mummy high breed she’s been waiting for you.” The little girl said as she grabbed Claudia’s hand and guided her towards the house.
Dustin
“Master they have found her in a western village called Piedra Lumbre, shall I ask Peggy to go get her?” Opal asked Dustin as he sat on his high chair made of gold and red diamond shaped rupees on each corner .His eyes had been closed as he once again felt her pull him ,their connection had come as a surprise to him but was strong never the less .He had to find her and soon . “No I will be getting her myself thank you Opal just keep your sister occupied”. He said as he heard familiar footsteps head his way.
The giant doors of Dustin’s home burst open as the dark figure approached him with a grin plastered on its face .He was wearing black like always with the traditional cloak around him .He always was dramatic for reasons beyond means Dustin thought .What he wouldn’t do to rip that annoying grin off his face, it would make him so very happy for days on end.“Hello little brother.” Roman said with a devilish smile that he knew very well annoyed his brother to the core.
