- Intro: How a young boy and girl found out they were meant to be together
Life couldnt be better for me. I am finally a senior in highschool and i'm on the dance team, plus i have an amazing group of friends. What could be better?
I walked into the gates at Bridge Mount High School. It wasn't a small school but it wasnt over populated either. I was one of the few on the Welcoming Committee for new students and i had to get to my post just in case others werent there. Mr. Canning waws the teacher in charge and he was waiting for me with a group of 3 students. One was a girl, gothic looking and obviously not thrilled to be here but then again who would be thrilled. The other two were boys, one on the younger side who was fascinated in the game on his phone and the other who looked about my age and had some muscle on him. He was cute and familiar looking.
"Mr?" He said calmly.
"Mr. Canning" i said to help him remember the forgot name.
"Yes. Mr. Canning. I do not believe i need a tour guide because i have attended this school before. I still remember the layout like it was my own home."
"Well Mr. Jones, if you knew the layout then why did your father sign you up for the guide?"
"Hell if i know."
"Then you will stay" and then Mr. Canning left. Left me in charge.
"Okay then. So hello, my name is Emberlynn but a lot of people call me Ember. I am one of the many, as you could say, tour guides for new students. This shouldnt be longer the an hour and you will be guided to your second period classes by me today and if you have any questions do not be afraid to ask or hesitate at all to do so." I said like a script." So what are your names?" i asked.
"Zack" the young boy said, still eyes glued to the phone. "Maggie" the gothic girl stated. "And you?" I asked.
"Neill. Neill Jones if you must know."
Hi Zack, Maggie, and Neill Jones. Lets get started."
I pointed out the main things like the office, nurse, library, bathrooms. Helped them all get to their second periods safely and of course no questions, but that's better on my part.
Break was coming up and i was excited to finally see my friends. As the bell rang and i walked outside the class door, Neill Jones was leaning on the wall with his foot up helping his balance. You could see the off-centered knot bow he attemped tieing on his black boots.
"Mr. Neill Jones."
"You can call me Neill you know"
"Yes, i know but it's just the excitement with how your name rolls off the tounge."
"HA.HA. very funny. You should be a comedian."
"Thanks that is what i'm going to college for!" i said sarcastically.
"Really?" he said.
"No, i am not really going to college to be a comedian. i dont even think you can do that. Teach you to be funny."
"Yeah, you're right."
"What did you need exactly?" i asked him.
"Well geeze, fiesty!"
"ha.ha. you should be a comedian!"
"Thank you, i try my best."
"So, what did you want?" i asked him again.
"oh i dont know, maybe we could hang out today."
"Like right now?"
"Well i am new. Your the only person i know."
"I am so touched. You know sure you can hang out with me but, i have friends too so you'll have to meet them and then we can go walk around or something and talk i guess. Does that sound good?"
"Yeah sure. That sounds cool."
He was tall, like maybe 6ft 6ft3 i dont know. I was 5ft5 and so he was a bit taller than I. He introduced himself to my friends and they looked at me and then looked at him like he was some piece of meat.
"Okay, Let's go." i said in a hurry.
“So you now have my full attention.” I told him.
“Tell me about you Ember.”
“What do you want to know?
“Everything. I want to know everything”
“Why do you want to know everything?”
“Because you aren’t like other girls and I have this feeling like I know you. It is almost like somehow I have already met you. Have you gotten that feeling from me at all?”
“Nope” but secretly yes. “Not really. Sorry Neill.”
“Oh..well I would still like to know.”
“Ask me anything.” I told him.
“What do you love to do?”
“What is your favorite color? And if you say pink..wow just wow.”
“Green actually. Yours?”
“Blue and I thought I was asking the questions.”
“You’re right. Continue.”
“If you had to pick between a Dog or cat?”
“Good choice. Okay how long have you lived here?
“All my life actually.”
“You seem very familiar.”
“I am sorry but that is not a question.”
“Very true, you can ask me questions now if you want.”
“What do you love to do?”
“Motocross or graphic design is pretty cool.”
“Boxers or Briefs?”
“Is that allowed to be a question?”
“Well you never asked me.”
“Whether you where thongs or granny panties?” he motioned his eyes down to my waist
“No whether I wear Boxers or Briefs” I said with a smile.
“I would have pictured you to wear boxer-briefs.” He laughed. I know his laugh.
“Neill?” trying to get more off subject from boxer-briefs.
“Text me sometime. Here is my number. I gave him a piece of paper with my name on it.”
“Sure, heading off to class so soon?” he said to me.
“The bell rang. That is what it means you know.”
“So you aren’t necessarily a goody good, but you aren’t a criminal either.”
“How did you get that from me going to class when the bell rings?”
“Emberlynn?” he called my name. My full long name that I hate but I loved how he said it.
“I can tell. Plus you’re different and I dig different.”
I smiled at him and turned away. We talked more during lunch and he was really sweet. Looks like things are finally turning out better than ever. First day of school and I finally meet a guy that may actually like me. Senior year couldnt be more fabulous.
Senior Year Journal Entry #1
I met a boy today.
He reminds me of...him. The way he smiled and laughed took me back two years ago. Could it even be possible that it is Erik? Erik Neill Jones? That isn't his name at all. But maybe it could be him. i gave him my number so maybe ill get a text from him. Goodnight.
