Don’t Underestimate a Cuddle
Give someone you know a hug
The benefits are well known
We humans love a cuddle
Especially those who are alone.
The feel-good factor of a hug
Cannot be dismissed
It makes us feel valued
Like when we’re being kissed.
A great big loving bear hug
That sweeps you off your feet
Isn’t the sort of greeting
You’d give everyone you meet.
But a nice, firm but gentle cuddle
With strong arms around each other
Is reserved for family members
Parents, sisters or a brother.
For someone you’ve not met before
A polite, formal hug is best
If you appear a bit too friendly
You could soon be known as a pest.
But the best cuddles of all, of course
Are those reserved for lovers
A passionate hug, combined with a kiss
Are on a level above all others.
So make someone smile with a cuddle
Make their day a happier one
Young or old, we all need them
I feel sad for those who get none.
