A Love Lost...

One day you’ll understand

Why you and I could never be

We fell in love, had some fun

But very different, you and me.

They say opposites attract

But I don’t believe that’s true

If you don’t have things in common

Then what is there to do?

We loved each other very much

Of that I can be sure

But over time we drifted

A relationship needs more.

In the end you sometimes have to accept

The memories of the life you had

Stay friends, move on and be happy

Life’s too short to be bitter and sad.
