Last part (part 10)
I and my manager entered a room.
“You!!!” he started
“Stop it Richard!”
“What? Have you lost your mind?”
“Stop bitching around!” I scolded him.
“Phantom you!!!” he tried to slap me but I punched him first. He fell to floor. I knew it, I was not that weak. He looked at me confused.
“I do have a name! For today I’m QUIT for become Phantom and STAR!”
“What you Quit singing?”
“I’m quit become Phantom and star not singing”
“What you will be then? A street singer?” he screamed and I just laugh.
“We know I won’t. I do not need to do that, I Am Rich”
“You can’t do this?”
“Do what exactly?”
“I’ll be bankrupt” He screamed desperately
“Then be it” I screamed too
“You just care about yourself, your money. Fuck with that. I have had enough. I don’t need you to control my life again! It’s my life! I can do whatever I want to! And don’t decide what I need and I don’t need anymore.”
“It’s his fault right?” his voice was so low, no more than a whisper.
“Yes! He gave me courage that you should give to me, which the old Richard would do! He opened my eyes and see that you’re not Richard I used to know. You already became a heartless manager. You tied me up. You lock me! You tried to ERASE SERENA JILSTONE!” he seems to shocked
“Remember that name? My name?” I mocked him
“I don’t think so! It’s over! Phantom IS DONE!!!” with that I left the room.
When I tried to leave somehow there are many people shouting my stage name.
“Phantom! There is big problem. It’s seems like someone spreads a rumor that the song which you just sang is for your boyfriend! Please can you clear it down?” Someone said
“No problem”
Once again I stood in the stage. Everyone was so silent. They want to know so badly huh?
“I have a good story” I started
“Once upon a time there was this little girl. She has nobody. She lived in street. For maintain her live, she became a street singer. Of course it’s not enough. So she stared to become a pickpocket too. One day she got caught by this very man. He didn’t angry at all. He said that he knew me. He had seen the girl sang in the street. He said that the girl voice was so beautiful and he asked the girl to come with him and try to be a star. The girl agreed. Off course she can live easily. But the first reason why she followed him was she believed in that guy. She believed in those eyes. When she saw his happiness when she said yes she got a Goosebumps. Maybe, just maybe she can make the man smiles more. She do the best for him so he will smile.” A tear rolls in my cheek. So I wiped it off.
“But that man change. He started to not care anymore to the girl. He became afraid if someone knows her Identity. He made a stage name for her and lied to the world. He chained her, locked her and made her never exist in this world. She accepted it because she care so much about the man. She became blind and dull. She couldn’t see that he had change into something that so greedy. Luckily she met this guy. He was weird, stubborn, unusual but kind, gentle and understanding. With his help this girl opened her eyes. Everything became clear. From the first time she just likes singing a lot. She could live from what she got for became pickpocket. She just wants to sing, wants someone to hear it. She becomes very happy if someone like it when she sang her heart out. And when she became star she couldn’t fell happy because her heart was slept. That guy helped her to awake it. Now the girl stood in front of all of you. The girl had finished her problems. The girl wishes for once again can be free to sing with her heart again without doubt.” I bow to the crowd. Before I can raise my head, the crowd applause. What can I do? I just smile shyly.
I got off from the stage and found my EX-manager. I prepared myself to another ridiculous fight but to my surprise he bows.
“What?” I chocked.
“I’m sorry” He said still bows. I look at him shockingly.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to… I just… I’m sorry” I lost word
“I didn’t realize. I hope you can forgive me. I know it won’t be easy but I hope you can forgive me someday.” He raised his face and looked into my eyes.
“I’ll clear it up, all the mess you’ve done as your manager even if you have fired me please let me do this as the last thing that I’ll do for you as Richard.”
“I don’t know” I still…
“Hey that’s rude” I turned my head and found Kent there with his smile.
“How…” but he interrupted me
“The explanation can wait but… you should give the old man one more change, everyone deserves to have it.”
“Who is the Old man?” my manager glared at him
“How old are you?” and he got more glares. It makes me giggled. He always can soften the mood.
“Kent Hoberson thank you for brought Serena Jilstone back”
“That’s nothing old man”
“I’m not that old” I giggled again
“Then um… please excuse me” and then Richard left. He poked me.
“You should talk to him, give him another change.”
“But...”
“No but little lady”
“Eh!!”
“Go!”
“At least, I want to say it rightly, without doubt. So, I need time”
“Oh yeah that’s right” I giggled again
“Now, how could you come here?”
“Easy, everyone knows my face. What can I do my face always shows up On the TV lately. But my sister can’t come. They didn’t let her in”
“Or… you don’t want her to come?” I said with playful tone
“It’s a secret” he whispered.
Now, I am in the park, the same park when I met him for the first time, the same park when I cried in his arms, the very same park, where all the things started. I looked at him through my geek’s glasses. Yes, I wore my disguise.
“You know, you can’t fool anyone with that” he said playfully
“Don’t care”
“Do you want to stop to be a star?”
“Yes, I do. Do you mind?”
“Not really unless there will be million people want to hang me because of that”
“Why?”
“Because I made you Quit”
“You were not” I put my hand on my hips
“Everyone thinks so” he got me. I became confused myself. Yet he laughed his lungs out.
“I don’t mind”
“Really” now I’m surprised
“Unless…” now what?
“You will miss it” he continued.
“What? No way!”
“You’ll miss all of the cheers the enjoyment when you sang in front of public and no you once again sing with your heart. Don’t you want to share it with the world?” I lost my word. He is right, maybe I’ll miss it.
“I think its okay”
“No it won’t! Give the old man and yourself another change”
“But…”
“It’s okay. When you failed…” he touched my cheek with his hand
“You know where you must go, where you’ll find me” I look into those brown eyes and then I smiled. Because of you my fear gone. It’s so easy for you to ease me.
“Thank you” I said softly. Slowly our face got closer and closer. I started to feel his warm breath until I felt his soft lips on mine. Our lips part apart for several seconds because he said “I love you” and then he kissed me again softly and deeply. I love you Kent Hoberson.
After the concert, almost every time my face shows up at TV. First they talked about me who would quit and then they talked about me who wouldn’t quit. Third they talked about my manger Richard. After that they talked about my relationship with Kent. At least they stopped. Now I can say that my life is perfect. I could sing whenever I wanted, wherever I wanted, whatever I wanted and with my heart too. I was free like a bird with no one controlled me too much, meant I still being controlled a bit, maybe kind of much. Richard behaved like he used to be. Sometimes the reporters were annoying but it’s less now. And the most things that made my life perfect or maybe I would say someone… and he is Kent Hoberson. I love him more than before even if his sister kind of scared me. I like his family too even if his sister kind of scared me. Everything seems perfect now even if I must deal with Kent’s sister who was kind of scared me. It’s perfect.
